Patents
The Patent Office is the University of Freiburg’s central department for filing patent applications for inventions. It accepts patent applications for “employee inventions” and takes care of the extensive administrative duties involved in applying for industrial property rights in cooperation with the inventors and patent lawyers appointed for this purpose.
If you would like to apply for a patent for an invention, please contact us directly. We will send you the necessary informational material and forms. Please also take note of the circular on the German Employee Inventions Act (Arbeitnehmererfindungsgesetz) in this context.
We would also be happy to help answer your questions on other important aspects of intellectual and industrial property rights, particularly trademarks and design patents, as well as on the protection of computer programs.
