	2014 Rehabilitation Grant Michael Schönberger, PhD, received a Rehabilitation Grant from the Celenus Clinics for his work in the area of Medical Rehabilitation.

	2014 Falk von Reichenbach Foundation Young Researcher Prize Katharina Becker-Nehring received the Falk von Reichenbach Foundation Young Researcher Prize from the German-Speaking Society for Psychotraumatology (DeGPT) for her work in the area of Psychotraumatology.

	2014 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize Prof. Dr. Michael Reth received the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for his work in the area of Molecular Immunology.

	2014 Stein and Moore Award 2014 Wilhelm Feldberg Prize Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Pfanner received the Stein and Moore Award for his work in the area of Molecular Cell Biology. In addition, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Pfanner received the Wilhelm Feldberg Prize for his promotion of scientific exchange between England and Germany.

	2014 Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Freiburg Law Students took second place at the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court in Trier.

	2013 Recreational Sports Program Prize Mathias Knittel received the Recreational Sports Program Prize for his outstanding athletic achievements.

	2014 Robert Wichard Pohl Prize Prof. Dr. Gert Strobl received the Robert Wichard Pohl Prize for his work in the area of Polymer Physics.

	2013 Prize of the Peregrinus Foundation PD Dr. Uwe Wilhelm received the Prize of the Peregrinus Foundation for his work in the area of Modern History.

	2013 Business History Prize Simon Gonser received the Business History Prize for his work in the area of Modern History.

	2013 IGA Special Prize Dr. Andreas Hartmann received the IGA Special Prize for his outstanding doctoral candidate involvement (ProDoc).

	2013 IGA Prize Silvia Negri and Mario Meliadò received the IGA Prize for their outstanding doctoral candidate involvement (Quodlibetales).

	2013 ERC Consolidator Grant PD Dr. Catherine König-Pralong received the 2013 ERC Consolidator Grant for her work in the area of History of Philosophy.

	2013 "Prize for Innovation in Foams" Ricarda Böhm, Danny Garcia-Marrero, and Clément Lacoste (Université de Lorraine, France) took second place in the "2013 Prize for Innovation in Foams" for their work in the area of Environmental Natural Sciences.

	2013 Funding in the Junior Professor Program Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jennifer Andexer was selected for funding in the Junior Professor Program of the State of Baden-Württemberg for her work in the area of Pharmaceutical and Medical Chemistry.

	2013 Funding in the Junior Professor Program Jun.-Prof. Dr. Tim Epkenhans was selected for funding in the Junior Professor Program of the State of Baden-Württemberg for his work in the area of Islamic Studies.

	2013 Funding in the Junior Professor Program Jun.-Prof. Dr. Winfried Römer was selected for funding in the Junior Professor Program of the State of Baden-Württemberg for his work in the area of Synthetic Biology.

	2013 Reinhart Koselleck Prize Prof. Dr. Bernd von Issendorff received the Reinhart Koselleck Prize from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for his work in the area of Nanophysics.

	2013 DREAM A team of Freiburg physicists headed by Prof. Dr. Jens Timmer (Bernahrd Steiert, Dr. Clemens Kreutz, Dr. Andreas Raue, from left) won the "DREAM Whole Cell Parameter Estimation Challenge" for their work in the area of Systems Biology Modeling.

	2013 Science Research Prizes Dr. Angela Lüchtrath and Nicolas Schoof received the "Science Research Prize" from the Gregor Louisoder Foundation for the Environment for their work in the area of Environmental and Natural Conservation.

	2013 "Opus magnum" Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Prostmeier received an "Opus magnum" scholarship from the Volkswagen Foundation for his work in the area of New Testament Literature and Exegesis.

	2013 Gips-Schüle Research Prize Prof. Dr. Thomas Speck received the Gips-Schüle Research Prize for his work in the area of Bionics.

	2013 Otto Meyerhof Prize PD Dr. Martin van der Laan received the Otto Meyerhof Prize for his work in the area of Biochemistry.

	2013 Vice European Champion at the IGEM Competition for Synthetic Biology Das Freiburger IGEM-Team took second place at the IGEM European Championships in the area of Synthetic Biology.

	2013 Dental Education Award Dr. Johan Wölber received the Dental Education Award from the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) for his work in the area of Periodontology.

	2013 Dental Education Award Dr. Petra Ratka-Krüger received the Dental Education Award from the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) for her work in the area of Periodontology.

	2013 Habilitation Prize PD Dr. Jan Alber received the 2013 Habilitation Prize from the German Association of University Teachers of English for his work in the area of English Studies.

	2013 Albert Bürklin Prize PD Dr. Heike Drotbohm received the Albert Bürklin Prize of the Freiburg Academic Society for her work in the area of Ethnological Migration Research.

	2013 Peter von Polenz Prize Dr. Kathrin Dräger received the Peter von Polenz Prize for her work in the area of Onomastics.

	2013 Strasburger Prize of the German Botanical Society Dr. Adrian Alder received the Strasburger Prize of the German Botanical Society for his work in the area of Botany.

	2013 "Young Scientists Class of 2013"/ERC Starting Grant Prof. Dr. Wilfried Weber was one of 40 scientists worldwide to be included in the "Young Scientists Class of 2013" by the World Economic Forum. In addition, Prof. Dr. Wilfried Weber received an ERC Starting Grant for his work in the area of Synthetic Biology.

	2013 ERC Starting Grant Jun. Prof. Dr. Daniel Leese received an ERC Starting Grant for his work in the area of Sinology/History.

	2013 Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Prize Dr. Tolgay Ungan and Patrick Steindl received the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Prize in the category "Measurement, Control, and Regulation Technology" for their work in the area of Photovoltaics.

	2013 ERC Starting Grant Prof. Dr. Fabian Kuhn received an ERC Starting Grant for his work in the area of Computer Science

	2013 High Energy and Particle Physics Prize Research teams led by the professors Dr. Gregor Herten, Dr. Karl Jakobs, and Dr. Markus Schumacher (ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN) received the High Energy and Particle Physics Prize for their work in the area of Particle Physics.

	2013 Südwestmetall Prize Dr. Benjamin Lemke received the 2013 Südwestmetall Prize for his work in the area of Microsystems Engineering.

	2013 Theodor Frerichs Prize Dr. Soeren Lienkamp received the Theodor Frerichs Prize for his work in the area of Kidney Development.

	2013 Distinguished Scientist Award Prof. Dr. Elmar Hellwig received the Distinguished Scientist Award for his work in the area of Caries Research.

	2013 Duchenne-Erb Prize Prof. Dr. Rudolf Korinthenberg received the Duchenne-Erb Prize for his work in the area of Muscular Diseases.

	2013 Prize for Interactive Computer Simulation The research group of Prof. Dr. Dietmar Kröner (Dr. Robert Klöfkorn, Tobias Malkmus, David Nies, Dr. Martin Nolte, Axel Pfeiffer, and Theresa Strauch) achieved second place in the "Competition of Modules for the Open Source MPE Exhibition" for their work in the area of Applied Mathematics.

	2013 Hans Kilian Prize Prof. Dr. Hans Joas received the Hans Kilian Prize for his scientific life's work in the area of Social Sciences.

	2013 Johann Georg Zimmermann Medal Prof. Dr. Charlotte Niemeyer received the Johann Georg Zimmermann Medal for her work in the area of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology.

	2013 Robotics and Automation Society Early Career Award Dr. Cyrill Stachniss received the Robotics and Automation Society Early Career Award for his work in the area of Computer Science.

	2012 Research Prize for Young Forest Scientists Dr. Patrick Pyttel received the Thurn and Taxis Research Prize for his work in the area of Forest Science.

	2012 Central German Archaeology Prize Edith Schmidt received the Central German Archaeology Prize for her work in the area of Archaeology.

	2012 "Prix Bartholdi" Alexander Potthoff (de) received the "Prix Bartholdi" for his work in the area of International Economic Relations.

	2012 German High Tech Champion Prof. Dr. Marie-Pierre Laborie (en) received the distinction of German High Tech Champion in the category Green Buildings for her work in the areas of Materials Science and Forest Science.

	2012 German Forest Science Prize Dr. Dirk Schindler (de) received the German Forest Science Prize for his work in the area of Meteorology.
