Dining Hall in the house "Zur Lieben Hand”
The dining hall in the house “Zur Lieben Hand” serves fresh, seasonal cuisine. In addition to a standard menu including light meat and fish dishes, fresh salads, and entrées, guests can choose from a variety of mouthwatering daily specials with market-fresh products.
The house “Zur Lieben Hand” has always been a place for get-togethers in the heart of Freiburg. The tavern served for a time as a meeting place for the Workers’ Education Association. In 1938 it opened to the general public and soon became popular with the citizens of Freiburg. Since 1990 the house has served under several owners as a dining hall for faculty, staff, and students of the University of Freiburg. This new concept has transformed the house, which is situated right in the middle of campus yet in quiet surroundings, into an convivial setting for informal meetings between professors, students, and guests of the university as well as for conferences or academic discussions.
The dining hall in the house “Zur Lieben Hand” is open Mondays through Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Reservations taken.
